December is all about giving back at Eanes Elementary!

Starting right after Thanksgiving, we're kicking off a month-long backpack drive to support Trulight Foster Home. Throughout the month, we’ll also have special activities to celebrate community and generosity, including heartwarming library stories, an inspiring guest speaker, Jesse Rueben, with The We Can Project, and more!

Join us for our Winter Philanthropy Party on Dec. 20th to celebrate the season, make a special craft, and wrap up this meaningful month together. More information about volunteering will be available soon!

Help us support Trulight Village

As the winter season draws near, we are reminded of the power of warmth, compassion, and community.

This year, we have the special opportunity to support Trulight Village, a foster home that serves children throughout the Central Texas area. Our goal is to create backpacks filled with personal items for each child to own, use, and keep during a time of transition.

From December 2nd through December 20th, you are invited to bring new and unused items to your child's homeroom teacher. Your contributions will help provide comfort, stability, and a sense of belonging for these children, who are navigating transitions. Feel free to sign up for multiple items, or to create a full backpack on your own. We will donate as many backpacks as we bring in.

Please sign up for items to donate by selecting your grade below and then scrolling to your homeroom teacher. Each homeroom has the age group we are providing backpacks for listed under their name.

Each item can be donated multiple times, we are looking to donate as many helpful items as we can!

Thank you for making a difference and sharing the gift of kindness this holiday season.

We are so excited to introduce a new type of holiday party this year - combining philanthropy with our usual celebration, fostering growth within our school while positively impacting our community.

As a culminating event for our month of giving, each grade level will meet in the cafeteria for 45 minute rotations on Friday Dec. 20 to make holiday keychains to donate along with the backpacks.. Grades will be paired into older and younger buddies, sitting in mixed tables, so olders can assist youngers. In addition to keychains, we will have a photo booth available, winter themed coloring sheets, a treat, and send each child home with a polaroid decoration
